Czech President Milos Zeman hinted on Thursday that his country could follow the United States and move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem “sooner or later”.

“[President] Trump’s decision makes me happy because when I visited Israel four years ago, I said that I would like to transfer the embassy, and that if that happens, we will be the first to do so,” said the Czech president in a television interview.

He added that “every country has the right to decide which city will serve as its capital, and by the same token, every country has the right to decide where its embassy will be located.”

“Trump’s move was meant to demonstrate the self-confidence of the United States, and that’s very positive,” continued Zeman.

The Czech Republic followed in the footsteps of U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday and said it recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel. …

Possibly the Czech president got things garbled. I doubt he meant that he could force his country’s embassy to be in Jerusalem if the Israelis don’t want it there.

ry mister Czech man, I don’t agree.

You don't have to agree. Any country that has diplomatic relations with another has the right to establish their embassies or consulates wherever it wishes in that country.....For obvious reasons, there's no consulates in Bumfuk Iowa with the exception of the newly opened Consulate of Kosovo which opened in 2016 in Des Moines while at the same time there are three in Detroit: Japan, Italy and Canada......

“And ALL OF OUR PRESIDENTS since then, just signed some sort of ‘waiver’ EVERY SIX MONTHS, kicking that can down the road since then? (I’ll bet that was the highlight of 0bama’s rein of terror!)”

But isn’t that the MO of EVERY President we’ve had since WWII or earlier? Yeah, I know there was Reagan, and he was a great president, but even he didn’t show the fortitude of Donald Trump. He is defying the status quo day after day, God Bless and Keep him!

” Any country that has diplomatic relations with another has the right to establish their embassies or consulates wherever it wishes “

That is untrue! Foreign countries are here as guests, and they have to ask permission for such things. You need to read below:

“Embassies in capital cities (A country can have ONLY ONE EMBASSY in a country)

The United States maintains diplomatic relations with 136 nations. In 135 of these countries, our embassy is located in the capital city. This is as it should be. As a routine matter, when a capital is moved, we move our embassy. This practice was followed when Brazil decided to move its capital from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia and when the government of Saudi Arabia, which until recently declined to have embassies located in its capital, indicated that it would like to have embassies in Riyadh.

In only one case our embassy is not located in the capital city — despite the expressed desire of the host country that this be done. Although Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, our embassy is located in Tel Aviv.

It is important to keep in mind that moving the US Embassy to West Jerusalem does not affect any of the issues surrounding the peaceful resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict. West Jerusalem has been an integral part of Israel since 1949, and this has been recognized by all nations with whom Israel maintains diplomatic relations. Two presidents of the US, five secretaries of state, and each US ambassador have done business with the government of Israel at the seat of that government in West Jerusalem. No less a figure than President Sadat of Egypt addressed the Israeli Knesset in Jerusalem during his historic visit in 1977.”

We are living in times that will be taught in future history books as extremely historic. The trump political realignment, Americas resurgence, death of western Europe, the rise of a conservative eastern Europe, the realignment of the middle east, victory over north korea-soon,and on and on. And it started because we deplorables elected trump. we did good for our kids.

You’re out of line. He was being supportive of Trump. The Czechs, along with Hungary and Poland, are among our best allies.

The line forms behind the USA

Actually it forms behind Russia. It said that West Jerusalem is Israel's capital in April. Since the Russians also wanted East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital Israel naturally declined that extra condition. As it should have.

Same weasel conditions Russia offered: Palestinians get a capital in East Jerusalem. As far as I’m concerned Israel can push those two legged cockroaches of Mad Moe’s Mafia into the sea.

Thanks Olog-hai. All it will take to shatter the EU will be for Merkel to try to tell the Czechs that they don't control their own foreign policy.
