“The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock.

I cannot say I am well versed enough to understand all poetry. There is a certain beauty to it though.”

Thank you for leading to that poem.
It is something you can read through the years and hear other songs in different seasons.

"if her daddy is rich, take her out for a meal"

I always thought it was "take her out for a mil," meaning a million.

Geez, what a crashing bore Puritan Nancy Boy you must have been. I’m sure you’re a barrel of monkeys now, though.

Oddly, I was fine with the rest of the song. I’m an equal opportunity womanizer.:)

That was the days, though, where all my friends were into stuff like Cream and FogHat, while I was just getting over my Herb Alpert days.

Heck, I’m 64 now and played live at Studio Seven across from Starbucks headquarters a few years ago. Death Metal. :)

The Dion ones are slightly annoying, but Lightning Strikes is just Eww all the way through.

“And I don’t know what church Norman Greenbaum attended, if any...”

Well, probably none because he was Jewish. The story goes that he just wanted to write a rock song inspired by Christian gospel music, even though he wasn’t actually a Christian.

That was the year that Jesus Christ became a “Superstar”, so people were jumping on the bandwagon.
