I find the following interesting:

Beverly Nelson was a sophomore at Southside High School in Gadsden, Alabama in 1977.

Classmates.com allows you to search for a school - go ahead:

Select 'Alabama'

Select 'G" as the first letter of the city

Select 'Gadsden'

Select 'S' as the first letter of the school

Select ANY OTHER school besides 'Southside' and see the search page

Select 'Southside' and see NOTHING...blank...nada...zilch

Now go to the Wayback Machine to see what the page looked like on Sep. 4 of this year:

The search page for Southside was just fine back then.

So I infer that she has a Freshman picture in this Yearbook since they do not issue yearbooks in December. It would be interesting to know how many students at the High School in 1977 were named “Ray”?
