Someone who would know informed me that Shelby is as corrupt as a Chicago alderman.
This is complete and total nonsense. A write in cannot win. It’s Moore or a socialist who hates America, hates freedom, and hates unborn babies.
He could have said something intelligent like, "These allegations are troubling if true but my good friend Judge Moore has denied them. Until he his day in court to defend himself from these decades old revelations and due process is afforded him, I cannot in good conscience stab him in the back."
Instead he goes on the Sunday cable news programs and stabs Moore in the back.
He knows that a write-in candidate would fail because it is too late for a write-in candidate to get momentum.

How could he possibly say this? If Moore is guilty, then the Senate Ethics Committee will assuredly find out, and he will be forced to resign. In that case, the Republican governor of Alabama, elected by the same people that would have elected Moore, will appoint a replacement. On the other hand, if a Democrat wins, then there is very little likelihood of Trump passing a lot of things through Congress, and therefore his chances of being reelected in 2020 will be substantially diminished. Is this what Shelby really wants?
