Newt is trying to pull the fuse from the bomb the Dems are planning on dropping on Trump.
A perfect illustration of why Newt was not hired by Trump and should not have been. Loose cannon is putting it mildly.
What bomb? If they had a bomb they would have detonated it during the campaign.
Was she in her 30s when he was a teenager? He wanted to be in the House, so isn’t he just as guilty for marrying an older woman.
He was half her age when he was 7 and she was 14.
When they wed he was 19 and she 26.
No one molested him. He probably found girls his own age boring and he probably came on to her.
It’s extreme cosmic justice that a revolting pig who CHEATED his way into the senate is driven out in DISGRACE, arguably with no due process.

I don’t like Gingrich and I loathe Franken but Newtie has a point. This hysteria started with Weinstein and due to messed up female psychology and a media that lives on shock value it has spiraled into scores of accusations against scores of men, in my opinion no one planned it, I am not a conspiratorial thinker.
This dog doesn’t hunt re Trump, they dropped the (meow) tape and “Miss Housekeeping” and “he came into the Miss Universe Dressing Room!” and the “Russia Hooker tape” allegation and even tried to link him with Jeffrey Epstein by reviving an old dismissed lawsuit, allegations that most media didn’t report on because the story had such little credibility that they feared backlash, and he still won.
Dems put the screws to Franken (and too late) so they don’t look like complete hypocrites re Moore. Renewed rat calls for Trump to resign over locker room jokes are merely them taking advantage of the moment. The less deluded among them know it’s a pointless exercise, pro forma.
Did Gingrich really say "due process?" Or is it possible that Ms. Burke correctly transcribed what he said (but that he misspoke)?
In any event: Stupid of Gingrich to "weigh in" on this!

Newt Gingrich on Sunday defended Democratic Sen. Al Franken, saying calls for his resignation amid sexual misconduct allegations were "purely and simply hysteria." ...compared the Democratic Party response to the sexual harassment scandal as akin to a lynching.I have little use for Newt, and this looked like another one of his "let's appear with Nancy Pelosi" moments -- but bringing up "lynching" evokes memories of Clarence Thomas' confirmation hearings, when the future Justice complained of "high-tech lynching" -- boxes the Demwits into a corner, while making that big old meaning Newt and his whole party look like forgive-and-forget Christians, and pushing the onus right back on the Demwits where it belongs. There's no double standard here, that's their problem. The hypocrisy is theirs as well.
One of those threads below is about the “victims” of Trump demanding an investigation of Trump because if Franken is being investigated, it is only fair that Trump be investigated too. The dems kicked out two members for sexual accusations, they will pretend they hold the high ground and demand the same for Trump. The media will amplify ad nauseam. This is the bomb the dems plan on dropping on Trump, regardless of how ineffective they have been in the past, Newt has correctly identified it and has thrown some water on the fuse.

Thanks for links. I assume, since the accusations against Trump are false, and were already disproven, that the bomb will fizzle, the only people who care about it are avowed enemies of Trump (and us) already.
