To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks
Fascinating, ambitious project ... but I can't help wonder if that kind of investment can ever be justified. $12.9 billion for 200,000 daily riders? New Jersey has about 4.5 million people in its labor force. That's a lot of money for one project that handles less than 5% of them -- and takes them to jobs where they pay income taxes in another jurisdiction.

200,000 today, on two lousy tracks over ancient bridges and through ancient tunnels.

Many many more than 200,000 in the future. Not to mention there’s no other way to move them, and no room for them to live in NYC.
