Two states is insane. It creates a Palestinian nation with an army where the west bank is. That brings almost all of Israel into rocket range.
One state is insane. It incorporates the West Bank into Israel and makes Palestinians into Israeli voters...and they breed like flies. Israel dies in 3 or 4 years.

The ONLY answer is the status quo of today. Israel is a nation. The West Bank remains forever as an occupied territory run by the IDF. Neither fish nor fowl. It doesn’t get independence, or citizenship within Israel.

It remains thus until the Palestinians prove beyond any doubt that they have ended the hostility. Realistically that means forever.

George Schultz, under Reagan, got his hands wet inside the USSR meeting with refuseniks and pressing the Soviets to allow those who wished to make Aliya.

Unlike Baker and Bush..

“Palestinians” don’t want a two-state solution; they want a “final solution” for the Jewish State.

A Credible Peace Plan, at Last
Jerusalem Post ^ | December 4, 2017 | Caroline B. Glick
"...Saudi peace plan. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly presented it to PLO chief and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas last month...It reportedly proposes the establishment of limited Palestinian sovereignty over small portions of Judea and Samaria. The Gaza Strip, over which the Palestinians have had full sovereignty since Israel pulled its military forces and civilians out in 2005, would be expanded into the northern Sinai, thus providing economic and territorial viability to the envisioned Palestinian state. While the Palestinians would not receive sovereignty over Jerusalem, they would be able to establish their capital in the Jerusalem suburb of Abu Dis."
