Sounds like normal lifespans for cats and dogs.
The only time I remember the news media getting upset over DEM pets was when JFK did not clothe Caroline’s horse, when LBJ pulled the ears of his dog HIM, and when he named a new dog Ho Chi HIM.
I notice Ho Chi HIM has disappeared from all mention of LBJ’s dogs.
