1. Please give back our old-style gas cans that actually allowed us to pour gas safely and efficiently.

A very nice lady on the customer service line for Spectre, the gas can maker, told me that gravity flow spouts compatible with their cans were still legal in Canada.

Since I wasn't far from the border, she suggested Canadian Tire, an auto parts store up there. Next trip up, I came back with some of the gravity flow spouts which actually worked. Yeah, gas will overflow when you try to pour five gallons of gas in a tank which has less than five gallons of capacity remaining.

It isn't rocket science. But the EPA approved alternative is so Rube Goldberg in design that it will start leaking gas the second or third time you use it. So it is actually worse for the environment than the Canadian gravity flow version which can't be legally sold here on this side of the border.

Amen! I lose more damn gas by spillage with those foolish new cans! The old cans were safer and more efficient.

Cut regulations will cut government expenditures and reduce the size of the government.

The administration eliminated 67 regulations between the time Trump took the oath of office and the end of fiscal 2017,
..........
not a chance that trump will get regulations down to 1960 levels at this rate.

However, given his cabinet he’s likely removing the worst regulations.

Agree 100%, especially about the gas cans. I live in rural ND and at farm auction and estate sales the old-fashioned metal gas cans with the flexible nozzle are very popular items.

Follow the lead of those like Vox Day: he’s started his own high-quality publishing house,
and is branching out into comics. We need to make our own alternative channels and institutions, not merely barely-tolerated conservative ghettos.

Guys, I’m missing something here. I have a 2 gallon plastic gas container that I bought a couple of years back at Home Depot that I’m very happy with. It seems you’re referring to a problem I haven’t seen. Can you enlighten me a bit? Thanks

Here are a couple of sites that describe the problems with these cans:

Suggest you go here: http://www.scepterconsumer.com/fuel_containers/

The stupid "safety nozzles" which the EPA allows to be sold in this country have the spring loaded black tips which automatically shut off once the tank is filled. The catch is that after about the second or third use the plastic and spring parts begin to wear out and the nozzle starts leaking so you need to replace it.

Or you could just swing up to Canada and buy the solid yellow gravity flow tips which can be used a lot longer.

But still not as long as the flexible metal spouts which your Dad or Grandfather was able to buy. If you want one of those, you'll have to check out a farm auction or estate sale and hope you can afford to bid high enough.

I'm not sure what you have on your two gallon can. It could be that since they are only about 40% of the weight of standard five gallon can so the parts on the "safety tip" don't wear out as quickly or that such small cans are exempt from the EPA rules on pure gravity flow nozzles.

The point is that the EPA, in trying to protect us from a few morons who try to pour five gallons of gas in a tank that has space for only three, they've created an even bigger hazard with their mandated safety nozzle design which will start failing long before the straight gravity flow spout.

“We haven’t seen nasty yet.”

Just saw an article claiming that border crashing is back up to “Obama levels.”

It dropped in the first place because people thought Trump was going to do something about it.

He hasn’t. Several million illegals, at least, should have been deported by now.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I understand now, and why am I not surprised. I remember when the government tried to keep toddlers from drowning in 5 gallon buckets. They were trying to mandate leaky buckets so that water couldn’t accumulate and drown the unlucky children. Fortunately they apparently figured out that a leaky bucket is no bucket at all. At least I hope they figured it out.

Did you also check out the "FUEL CONTAINERS" link on the home bar at the top? It has a drop down menu for either the United States or Canada and the rest of the world.

Why doesn't the EPA want to get on board with "Canada and the rest of the world"?

>>Something to remember is that we are fighting a holding action<<

Everything PDJT does can be undone after the 2018 elections and undoubtly after the 2020 elections.

I doubt he will see two terms.
