There are 1000s of people Trump could have selected from to head DOJ who would have been no worse than Sessions. At the same time, he would have saved the Senate seat in Alabama for the next three years. I’m hard pressed to come up with a worse decision Trump has made in 2017.

Sessions seemed like a good fit. It has proven otherwise. Sessions in the past has been a fearless champion of conservative ideas. No matter what the left or GOPe threw at him. Plus an Alabama seat seemed as safe as there is. In retrospect this appointment was a disaster on all fronts. He’s been both inept and catastrophocally damaging and the race to replace was an utter mess resulting in a divided party and lost seat.

Strzok, McCabe, Paige, and the libs inside the FBI are getting killed in the media, in Congress, and in public opinion. It's a bloodbath! So --- hmmm, what should we do??? Let's have Trump or Sessions do something utterly rash! Let's rescue Mueller from his disaster. Great (/s), let's make the issue about how it's Trump's fault that everything becomes unravelled.

We have a pretty damn good investigation going on by the OIG which should be allowed to continue. Trump, Sessions, et. al. will move on that when is concluded. (The IG unearthed --- did not hide --the Strzoke/Paige correspondence; got Strzok moved off the investigation and into HR). If they act now, the Trump Team will be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Sessions has got to wither this abuse and keep a low profile until the IG has finished his work.

THEN, they move.

They can be impulsive like the Brits at the Battle of Isandlwana or disciplined like those at Rorke's Drift. And, for now, they "hold their fire."
