Still happens.
I get flak all the time for standing up for the Constitution.
We have people here who want Ted Cruz to be President so bad they are willing to make Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids eligible with their stretching of the phrase.
The founders chose their words very carefully.
They did not use native born, that would include Rubio, Jindal, Haley, George P. Bush and Kamala Harris and even Obama if he really was born in Hawaii.
They wanted to preclude any foreign influence on the President by excluding the children of foreign nationals by using natural born citizen, those who are naturally Americans because they cannot possibly be anything else because they were born here of citizen parents.
Cubanadians would definitely not be considered natural born citizens by the founders.
