We get that the “collusion” probe drives President Trump crazy, and that he feels loyalty to his former national security adviser, who arguably became collateral damage in the partisan effort to smear him. But Trump would help only his enemies by firing special counsel Bob Mueller, or by pardoning Mike Flynn.
The president on Friday fed speculation on both fronts by telling reporters, “I don’t want to talk about pardons for Michael Flynn yet. We’ll see what happens. Let’s see.” And: “I can say this: When you look at what’s gone on with the FBI and Justice Department, people are very, very angry.”
The anger is understandable: It increasingly looks like Justice and the bureau first took a very soft approach to the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail abuses, then a highly aggressive one to its probe of possible Team Trump connections with Russia’s meddling in the 2016 campaign.
But an inspector general is reviewing the conduct of the Clinton case, and has already sidelined top FBI official Peter Strzok over troubling evidence of bias. The IG is also surely looking into why Justice declined to play hardball with Clinton and her aides for telling lies to the FBI (as Mueller has done with Flynn), among other issues.

What business is it of some newspaper to tell the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES to not pardon someone convicted of a process crime?
Mueller seems well on track to indicting himself, and Flynn seems on track for exoneration.
No Presidential influence required.
It is only by God’s mercy that we have a country left after seeing the sewage rats crawling out of the federal cesspool.
Mueller not only deserves to be fired but prosecuted for sedition.
He can be replaced and should be. This isn’t Watergate and the Rat filth need to be called on their bluff about impeachment. Eric Holder making street gang threats? That’s all that gangster punk did when he was AG - something that never should have happened.
But Trump doesn’t need to do it. Rosenstein is supposed to do that when he sees conflict of interest. Since he refuses to see that, it’s clear that the AG should do it for him. Sessions does not have to recuse himself when he sees clear misconduct. And the misconduct has always been Rosensteins.
He’s the linchpin of this whole scam. It was his broadly worded memo that started it, and his recommendation to fire Comey that was the trigger.
Rosenstein either does what’s right or gets replaced.
Commute Flynn ‘s sentence to time served.
That will drive the democrats nuts.

They might even pounce on Comey for providing the leak that led to Mueller's appointment.
Mueller then gets FIRED! Case closed!!!
AND ... he and his 0bamorrhoid cronies need to quit wasting our money.
Pardoning Flynn might deprive him of a nice lawsuit.
Surely well placed repubs can come up with money to pay a few babes who will claim Muller sexually harassed them....
He won’t fire Mueller and Flynn should be pardoned.
Mueller is self imploding. Just do not get in the way.
absolutely none of this would have come out if Clinton had won, and that is why they were working so hard to get her elected. They knew that if she won, they could continue their activities, many of which are either illegal or border on illegality.
Pardons are only for those whose wives bought and paid and LAID the POTUS for them-like Marc Rich

The Democrats are dying for Trump to fire Mueller. Don’t do it. His investigation is badly tainted and has no credibility so it’s better to just let if fail.
"Sidelined"? Flynn has been sentenced to prison and Strzok has been "sidelined", still working at full pay for the agency whose offices he used for political corruption? Gosh, now why would anyone think that to be a little unequal?
I'd pardon Flynn in a heartbeat and let it be publicly known that anyone else entrapped or convicted on the basis of illegal surveillance will be as well. Let them scream, they're looking for any excuse to scream anyway.
