We conservatives need to get our heads right about the mid-terms or liberals will end up guzzling patriot tears and their gloating will be flat-out intolerable. We’re not doomed in 2018 – I mean, it’s not like tax reform or pulling out of the Paris Climate Scam, which have already killed millions of people, including me and you. But, if we fail to get on course for victory then we’re going to see Nancy Pelosi and the Gropeocrats back in charge and trying to make America into California.
Trust me. You do not want to live in the United States of California.
So, the first step toward victory is some real talk about us normals – you know, conservatives who are more concerned with our country than with muttering about principles and trying to sell cruise cabins. We need to talk about how we’ve screwed up and how we need to change what we’re doing wrong. We got lazy after we vanquished Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit and installed what has turned out to be the most conservative president since St. Ronald. We had the House, and we had the Senate, so we relaxed. Sure, we’ve gotten some great things done, but every step has been a battle thanks to the enraged Dems, their lying media pals, and that cheesy bunch of Never Trump weasels who are motivated by rage at how we dissed them and their Conservative, Inc., cronies. The enemy is creating a sense of permanent chaos, and they intend to present themselves as a return to normality. “Vote for us liberals and everything goes back to normal,” they’ll lie. They’ll actually amp up the insanity with impeachment shenanigans and obstruction, and they’ll probably bumble their way into provoking a short and hilarious civil war.

“The Gropeocrats”. LOL. Schlichter is terrific.
I read another article today where the author called Franken a “handsy lawmaker” LOL.
For the first time I’m a little disappointed in Kurt.
It’s the old ‘let’s back the best conservative that can win’ argument.
If we’d gone that route last year we wouldn’t have elcted Trump.
I’m tired of voting for, and donating to, ‘conservatives who when elected ‘grow’ in office.
Very true. The kind of people who tend to be most neglectful about things like this are the ones who will pay the most for their vindictiveness, ignorance and negligence. It seems that they never learn. Vote Republican in the midterm elections of 2018, or lose.
But the new tax law will not be reversed, because Democrats will not get a veto overriding majority. It won’t change defense plans, either. LOL!
But if such losses of Republican seats happen in Congress, many more idiots will be disarmed and surveilled (new drug/alcohol considerations). And many government employees will be laid off with inevitable spending cuts forced by the unmovable new tax law along with job losses resulting from the anti-Republican rebellion.
Checkmate! There’s a plan for everything this time.
So, government-fund-sucking anti-Trumpers, vote Republican to protect yourselves.
You’re right about Trump, but that was really difficult to foresee. It was pretty much I think divine intervention.
Kurt is spot on though on how we need to approach 2018. I am mad as hell at Jeff Flake, and want a MAGA candidate taking Sasse’s seat in 2020. However, currently, we are in a war and we need to win. In WWII our allies were the French and British.
As much as the establishment sucks, and they do suck, we need both establishment and MAGA to elect Republicans. MAGA by itself couldn’t do it in Alabama. So even if they smell, we need to win first. Think about it. Without Murkowski, Collins, Sasse, Flake, we couldn’t have gotten Gorsuch nor tax cuts. We couldn’t have gotten all the appeals court judges, some who absolutely rock. I’m sure you’ll agree with that irrefutable fact.
“It’s the old ‘let’s back the best conservative that can win’ argument.”
Yep.
It’s war.
No McConnell. No votes for Republicans until he is gone.
Pragmatism won last year. And as the Alabama primaries showed us, perfect is the enemy of the good.
“No votes for Republicans until he is gone.”
Chuck Schumer thanks you for your support.

This is the standard GOPe line - telling conservatives that they have to vote for liberal Republicans - wrapped in language that lets the author pretend to oppose the GOPe.
Republicans need to do more than fight back whenever the Democrats say something stupid, or they will be forever fighting back and never winning on the issues that count.
I’ve seen the future, and it’s Rubio.
It's also the standard MAGA line. The GOPe need to vote even if they think the MAGA Republican candidate is embarrassing, like Corey Stewart and Kelli Ward. I blame the GOPe for the loss in Alabama. I hate losing seats. You seem to be okay with it. I fire trucking hate losing seats.
I stand for good principles and good actions, not for an empty version of the Republican label that does not stand for either.
United States of California...that’s funny...I don’t want to live in that nation...(it could make North Korea look prosperous...)
Kurt is immensely entertaining but he’s wrong on this. Electing yet another uniparty politician with an R after their name is going to give us the same results we’ve always gotten. This isn’t about “compromise.” Compromise is a trade where you give up one thing and get another. But in politics, compromise means we give up everything for nothing in return. Nor is it about “being patient.” Being patient means that you delay gratification for something in the future. But in poliics, “being patient” is more accurately translated as never.
Politics is not a force for good, and Christians should avoid it.
No. You stand for weak idiocy.
Trump WAS the Buckley rule. He was THE ONLY one who could have won. All the others were more accomplished in their field and would have folded like an accordion. Cruz at least would have gone down fighting. BFD.
1. List incumbents, both R and D, who are vulnerable to a challenge in either the primary or general.
2. List potential challengers. Quickly identify and eliminate the Murdoch-Aiken-Walsh type candidates who are good on the issues but commit political suicide with stupid statements. Suicide is not pro-life.
3. As with the military, self-discipline and discipline of the troops is necessary. Find the candidates who are dedicated to the campaign. I worked for one great candidate who announced his candidacy and then went on a long vacation to the surprise of all us volunteers.
4. Narrow down the vulnerable based on #2 and #3. Many of us were in the military. Compare it to a military campaign. Not to touch-football in the backyard.
5. The object is to win. It is not to score debate points. It is not to make nice and avoid offending people. If good debate skills wins, use it...but understand the goal is to win. If good diplomatic skills wins, use it...but understand the goal is to win hardball, not to be prom queen.
6. The reality is that of the many “moderate Republicans” only a few are vulnerable in the primary.
7. It is icing on the cake if one of the targets is an obstacle in leadership. But winning is more important. That means only target a leadership we can beat.
8. Avoid the mistakes Hillary made. Hillary was cocky, out of touch with real voters. We could make the same mistake. Conservatives need to be out meeting and greeting their neighbors now... we need to know what voters are thinking who are not on conservative web sites, who are watching reality TV and not FOXNEWS. Remember, it is reality TV that elected Trump.
Your’e fired was in everybody’s mind when they chose whether to go with Trump or not. They chose that the swamp and non-performers needs to be fired.
9. Play a complete game. We need offense, defense and special teams. We need to avoid turnovers. We need to avoid penalties and stupid moves that detract from winning.
We owed Roy Moore nothing – he owed us loyalty, which he failed to show when he refused to drop out and make way for an undamaged candidate. His determination to make this race about “clearing his name” cost us a Senate seat. If he wanted to clear his name, there were courtrooms for that. Instead, we got stuck with a guy we knew was a doofus even before he admitted he was a skeevy doofus.
Weird candidates lose. The claims of illegality against him are shaky, but based on his own admissions, the best case was this guy scammed on high school girls in his thirties. Okay, legal or not, that’s going to turn people off. And it did –Republican turn out tanked because when your argument is, “Well, my creeping on teens was technically legal,” you’re going to lose votes.
Not exactly polite, but worth reading and pondering.
