Just when you think the disaster called VA can’t get any worse, now this?

OK, good point. I happened to be in the State Senate chamber years ago when the vote was on whether or not to print multi-lingual ballots, and it ended in a tie, bringing in Tim Kaine. But, yes, that was the Senate, not the House of Delegates. Mea culpa, a senior moment!

It was just announced that Yancey WILL challenge the recount’s outcome. (News on WMAL, Washington DC at 10am 12/20/17)

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/article190717319.html

“The official wrote that although he signed off on the ballot, which was not counted a day earlier, he was confused at the time. He wrote that the ballot had both candidates’ names bubbled in for the 94th District race. He says the voter had chosen Republican candidates in every other race.
Attorneys for Democrat Shelly Simonds say the ballot should not be reconsidered.

Pretty bad mistake.

Well, they will not be taxing me. I will be in Tennessee or Alabama or South Carolina somewhere. Too bad I was not born 25 years earlier.

WV is on my new list of potential homes. Obama pushed WV to the GOP when he eliminated all coal related jobs.

Seven Corners seemed like little Baghdad when I was there for vacation back in 1997.

Judges count the ballot.

IT'S A TIE!

Now to draw lots.

They’re coming back in the Mountain State but fracking jobs will far out pace them. WV sits on top some enormous oil-rich formations that only modern fracking can recover.

In fact I am leaving NoVa and retiring back to my beloved home state hopefully by this time next year.

Well you never know, I may be there one day. What are the best cities in WV?

It depends on what you want.

Canaan Valley - major retirement center with lots of outdoor activities, Snowshoe (skiing) is close & Snowshoe is another good place.

Morgantown home of WVU - Either the Kiplinger Letter or Money Magazine had it in the list of top 20 small towns in America. Has everything a college town is expected to have, great restaurants, lot of cultural activists, concerts, international touring groups - e.g., last year the Bolshoi Ballet and WVU FOOTBALL , so 7 TIMES A YEAR ITS A MAD HOUSE - but in a good way! And in a 10 - 20 minute drive you are in the woods so like all of WV a lot of outdoor activities. Only bad thing about Morgantown is it’s stretched out along the river bank and goes up hill so traffic is an annoying but minor problem. Also 70 miles from Pittsburgh if you need a big city fix!

Charlestown - race track, Vegas style resorts, etc.

Charleston - nice family town - state capitol

Anywhere in WV is close to outdoor activities if that’s what you like!

As you can see my preference is Morgantown even though I am from the Charleston area.

Lewisburg - where Greenberger Resort is located is another good place though I don’t have much personal experience with it. My parent loved it. It’s an “artsy” town that my parents liked, I never understood that!
