If a person offers someone well wishes with the pleasant greeting of “Merry Christmas”, they mean that person no harm. Our culture, striving to avoid perceived offense, is encouraging people to avoid contact with others and retreat into social isolationism rather than engaging people into a socially reasonable consensus Sad commentary on modern life
I appreciate the story and dislike the ‘killing’ of Christmas; and it was good of the woman to hold no hard feelings, and to adjust her ritual. But I don’t understand why someone would give an obvious, yarmulke-wearing Jew a card picturing the Nativity in the first place...
