Meanwhile, I've found that as one moves from the working to retirement lifestyle, the number of deductions one can claim become fewer: (e.g. mortagages get paid off, medicare picks up more costs, etc). So for many the "loss" of these deductions won't have any impact anyway. Meanwhile...

I agree with your take. Those things and the new 24,000 approximate deduction for two people, will make it a lot easier to file a short form now also.

It might even be competitive with a small mortgage.

She did not support Hillary during the election and about a month ago she made a very public statement that if Hillary had become President our Country would have now been in the toilet.
