That whole article ignores the elephant in the room.
Women are warned not to smoke during pregnancy because it raises the risk of fetal loss, premature birth, and low birth rate, all factors which combine to create a high infant mortality rate. Abortion has the same effect on subsequent pregnancies, and the more abortions a woman has, the less likely she will be to carry a subsequent infant to term. In some cases, women become unable to conceive following abortion. While women can quit smoking, they cannot undo the damage to their reproductive systems caused by abortion.
That article is correct about racism being the cause of high infant mortality rates, but not in the nebulous way it blathers on about. Rather, it is a very specific mechanism: racist leftists target black women for abortion and place abortion mills disproportionately in black neighborhoods. Eugenicists have targeted the black population for over a century. And then these same leftists who want to get rid of black people use fear to get them to vote for them, ironically using the claim that Republicans are racist (in a very nebulous way, since no actual racist policy exists in the Republican platform) to secure their votes.
I would like to see abortion rates compared to infant mortality rates across all demographic groups--I think that the rates would correlate very well.
With preemies, statistically, black girls are the heartiest, followed by black boys. I believe that Asian girls are next and it goes on down by sex and ethnicity until you get to wimpy white boys at the bottom.
At least, thats what I was told by a doc I knew while I was visiting my preemie son in the intensive care nursery. Premature white males struggle the most.
For a group with the heartiest babies to have a higher infant mortality rate is shocking: what is going on when they get home from the hospital?
Bingo. And damage to the reproductive system from STDs may be a factor as well.
