Out here in Los Angeles we used to have the most beautiful landscaped freeways. Not all areas were like this, but enough were that the drive was somewhat pleasant.

Then the move came for everyone living by a freeway to get the government to install walls on both sides of the freeways. Why it was too loud.

Never-mind that these folks knew what they were getting into when they bought their homes. No, now everyone had to help them out.

Now we drive down these concrete groves with cement on three sides of us, no views whatsoever.

Driving fatigue is more frequent now.

I bought one of those silly seeming deer whistles for my motorcycle because I drove to work through an area infested with cervine pests. I saw a difference. Without the device on the deer on the roadside paid me no mind and like as not would trot across the road right in front of me. I did not hit any but they made me pretty nervous. I put the deer whistle on my front fender and noticed the deer would look up well before I got too close and would then move off away from the road. i now have the deer whistles on both bikes and my car and my daughter who also drove to work through deer woods has one. They are cheap and apparently effective.

We live next to an apple orchard here in New Mexico. They have had to put in a 12 foot high fence around the orchard to keep the deer and elk out of it. When I asked them how they kept the bears out thy said, “We open the gate for them”.

MI has 50,000 car/deer accidents a year, and it is estimated that at least that many go unreported each year.

There are so many dead deer along the roads that they refuse to pick them up anymore. They just rot along the roads.

MI has a 3 month deer season each year, and farmers can get almost unlimited permits to shoot them at other times of the year.
