The Democrat was up one vote for a seat representing an era in Hampton Roads in VA's lower house. Then a vote for the D was tossed out so one has a tie. This is huge because if the D draws the correct lot the VA lower house will be exactly evenly split. The GOP needs to make sure if the D is drawing the winning paper is not placed in a freezer before the draw, a la, NBA draft lottery when the Knicks won the top pick to draft Patrick Ewing.

Is that procedure written into their constitution? :)

The will of the people, not the happenstance of the cosmic universe. Only a Liberal could have come up with this nonsense.

How do we know that there are two names in the bowl instead of just the Democrat's?

There was a coin toss to decide a tie in a council race in the Pittsburgh area within the last several years.

I thought the Republicans were allowed to count one extra vote that had been thrown out but appealed. And I thought the tiebraker was going to be a coin flip.

Yeah, I could see the Dems rigging the film canisters by marking the lid so the draw-er would know which one to pick.

In Cave Creek, AZ outside of Phx a tied race is decided by cutting the cards. High card wins.

This has to be the stupidest way to decide an election. The event should be televised to discourage rigging the selection.

Since Democrats regularly cheat and lie with no troubled consciences, I suspect we know what the outcome of this will be.

That’s a perfectly fair and acceptable plan. My town had a tie (My kid forgot to vote) for a council seat.

They had no easy method for a tie breaker. The Mayor nominated someone. Council was supposed to approve. Since council is a bunch of loser liberals and the Mayor is a Constitutional conservative, they went through that exercise 3-4 times which took almost a year to seat the council member.

I suggested to the mayor that the candidates who tied have a duel in the town square with paintball guns. He liked the idea but never proposed it.

A friend is a small town mayor has a tie breaker plan on the books. Flip a coin.
