The problem in Alabama was more specific but people don’t like focusing in on it for some odd reason. Maybe they’re cowed by PC and are afraid to speak the truth, yet again. It was women. They were manipulated by the Democrats, who know putatively conservative women can be manipulated thusly.
An understandable (and growing) sentiment...
Those charts show why the whole American Catholic hierarchy needs to be replaced; abortion will never be outlawed as long as Catholic voters are OK with it. Many years ago when I attended the March for Life I was stung by how much more heavily Protestant denominations were represented than Catholics. It helped me understand how Dems win Catholic population centers, and how Republicans carry the Bible Belt.
Oh, so my synod is defined as ‘evangelical’ now? How the heck do they define ‘evangelical’ anyways?
I mean, it’s not like it makes TOO much difference, but the ‘mainline’ label there as opposed to ‘evangelical’ annoys me because of the implication.
Even so, yes, I note that Catholics tend to vote very liberal.
It’s really sad, yes.
No idea what to do about it unless there’s a way to either kick the heirarchy out or just find a way to take the money and set up a non-sinful Catholic church in competition with the corrupt leadership.
Or something. It would take a more charismatic theologian than me. Or maybe direct divine intervention.
Some of the groups that arose from the ashes of the gay sex crisis talked a good game at first (especially about controlling the financial aspects of the Church), but then they devolved into goofy stuff like female priests and such (”structural changes”)...
