Scientific studies used by the Obama administration to help justify tough environmental regulations are coming under intensifying scrutiny, with critics questioning their merit as the Trump EPA reverses or delays some of those rules.
In one case, agencies determined the research used to prop up a ban on a particular pesticide was questionable. On another front, the Environmental Protection Agency never complied with a congressional subpoena for the data used to justify most Obama administration air quality rules.
EPA regulations are based on secret data developed in the 1990s, Steve Milloy, who served on President Trumps EPA transition team, told Fox News. For the EPA, coming up with cherry-picked data is standard operating procedure.
Milloy, author of Scare Pollution: Why and How to Fix the EPA, was previously a lawyer for the Securities and Exchange Commission and is among critics who accuse federal agencies of carefully selecting scientific research to fit a political agenda.

In October, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt issued a directive to ensure that individuals serving on EPA advisory committees dont get EPA grants and are free from potential conflicts of interest.
Whatever science comes out of EPA, shouldnt be political science, Pruitt said in a statement. From this day forward, EPA advisory committee members will be financially independent from the agency.
Environmental groups blasted the decision.
For Pruitt, anything that helps corporate polluters make money is good and science and facts are just roadblocks he wants to tear down, said Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club.

Updated December 2016
Nearly half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria. In 2015, there were roughly 212 million malaria cases and an estimated 429 000 malaria deaths. Increased prevention and control measures have led to a 29% reduction in malaria mortality rates globally since 2010. Sub-Saharan Africa continues to carry a disproportionately high share of the global malaria burden. In 2015, the region was home to 90% of malaria cases and 92% of malaria deaths.
Obola’s only legacy will be as the worst ever President who lied, stole, scammed, and bullied his way through a fake Presidency as he worked for muslim interests around the world but never put America first or protected it which was his prime mandate.
junk science was the easiest way for Obama to hand out Billions of dollars to the Left
Thanks. I meant cases, not deaths but it looks like that number is still too high.
Fake Studies
Fake Science
Related to this topic, I recently received a fund-raising letter from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), asking for money to help lobby Congress on scientific issues. The letter stated that the public is becoming increasingly skeptical of science.
I have to wonder if the good leaders of the AAAS ever consider that the politicization of science (e.g. through pushing “anthropogenic global warming” hypotheses for which there is little empirical or experimental supporting evidence) is one of the main reasons people are distrusting science more and more? And they (AAAS leaders) are, at least in part, contributing to the problem.
It is absolutely essential for scientists to remain aloof from politics. The failure of many scientists to separate their politics from the science erodes public trust in a way that will not be very easy to repair.
You might want to double check that number.
Shouldnt that read: Make believe studies used by the Obama administration. . .?
seems incredible right? Estimate is 7.6 billion people as of this December. About 3% of the world population gets Malaria.
Where might that be....
Democratic Dictionary:
Junk Science = Real science that must be acted upon retroactively.
Real Scientist = Science denier that must be silenced at all costs.

The Sierra Club doesn’t address the damage that illegals do to the environment as they criminally pass through our deserts and beautiful lands. Some areas look like a dump. Thank you Mexico. Thank you Sierra Club.
Yeah, flip over those flat, damp rocks and see what scurries out.
Democrats soil every institution they dominate. They can’t help it.
During Reagan, the EPA Nazis had a fit when testing for a certain pesticide was taken off the “must check” for municipal water supplies. Except Hawaii, which is the only state where the pesticide is used, on pineapple crops.
