This reminds me of a video I saw several years ago.
The police were demonstrating a new bullet proof vest in front of a class with a live person wearing it. The only problem was they demoed it with a knife and it went right through. Ruined that guys day. I hate it when that happens.

Graphene is a zero-gap semiconductor, because its conduction and valence bands meet at the Dirac points. The Dirac points are six locations in momentum space, on the edge of the Brillouin zone, divided into two non-equivalent sets of three points. The two sets are labeled K and K'. Given enough kinetic energy, bullet proof armor that merely stops a projectile would not be sufficient.

Graphene, I understand, can be clear. I wonder if this item would be clear thus making it good armor even over the head and eyes? It certainly would be very light weight.
