Only thing I ever saw up there was artic fox and mosquitos by the Billions.
I spent a year in the Kodiak Island area (and Sitkinak Island) the entire year of 1974. The mosquitos will drain your blood out in a hour during the summer. Ptarmigan is the stupidest bird ever and I don't know why they aren't extinct. Lemmings own the muskeg with tunnel systems beyond belief. Lots of fox to eat the ptarmigan and lemmings.
