Treeing Walker. George Washington had one, a girl, loved her dearly. Her name was Sweet Lips.

I had one that I’d rescued myself, up to this year. She loved me with all her heart. Hard-headed though, would wander off if she was on a scent, no fence could contain her either. Good natured about it when I finally caught her, no attempt to run off, sort of a nonchalant “oh hai what are you doing out here I’m a-huntin” kind of an attitude. I miss her, she developed cancer and it progressed very rapidly.

Thanks! Not familiar with the breed-other than to see 3 of them all the time in the truck of a neighbor who varmint hunts-he makes vests and stuff from the pelts-nice stuff, too expensive for me, though-so I googled it-and yes, that is the same dog that hunter neighbor has and that my friend adopted-looks like a big beagle-my friend’s weighs about 60-65 lbs-and he’s never off leash outside-she has one of those long retractable leads like I had for my Husky girl-freedom without the danger-the shelter staff told my neighbor that is probably how that hound got lost in the 1st place-went off chasing something and got too far away.

I’m sorry you lost your companion-my much loved Husky girl is still greatly missed after almost 2 years...
