The dossier was so damaging and problematic for the Deep State that they desperately needed a distraction. Hence this red herring story. Its an unsubstantiated fabrication, but it helped create a protective narrative for them, at least for awhile. But now its falling apart under scrutiny and facts.
So a drunk aid claims the Russians have dirt on Hillary (which they no doubt do) and THAT triggers an investigation?

The DC Swamp is full of people just like Papadopoulos whose bloated sense of self importance leads them to brag about all kinds of nonsense. The are overly ambitious climbers who exaggerate and lie to get attention.
You are absolutely right; it makes no sense whatsoever that some insignificant wannabe’s off handed comments would trigger any kind of a serious investigation. It would be dismissed for the BS that it is.

Excellent comment! Trump knows how the Deep State operates and probably has a good sense of exactly who they are and who is behind the money. For that reason, he is a very serious threat to their designs and machinations. Trump wants the government to function as intended and not be run by bunch of self-interested manipulators. He needs our strong support to fight the Deep State and its allies in the media.
