Former Federal Bureau of Investigations Director James Comey provoked many Twitter users Sunday for wishing for more ethical leadership in the new year.
Heres hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values, Comey wrote in whats widely being interpreted as a shot at President Trump, who fired the director in May.
Heres hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values. Happy New Year, everybody.
The backlash was swift.
Here is hoping 2018 the U.S. will have a clean, politically, FBI. 1 that will actually do their jobs. https://twitter.com/Comey/status/947615038415794178
Lordy, how could you type that with a straight face? https://twitter.com/Comey/status/947615038415794178
Ethical leadership - you mean like being "extremely careless" instead of "grossly negligent?" https://twitter.com/Comey/status/947615038415794178
Comeys tweet comes after the FBI is under intense scrutiny for how it conducted the investigation of Hillary Clintons use of a private email server, as well as the neutrality of top agency officials.
Over the last year, it was revealed Comey began drafting his July 2016 exoneration statement before key witnesses in the Clinton email investigation had been interviewed.
The inspector general review also is looking into whether FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe whose wife has strong ties to the Democratic Party should not have been involved in the investigation.
Other top FBI officials, who worked under Comey and were involved in the Russia investigation, have also come under scrutiny for anti-Trump messages.
Lawmakers have been alarmed by recently revealed texts from FBI official Peter Strzok, who called Trump an idiot and who referenced an insurance policy against a Trump presidency.
Strzok had been assigned to Robert Muellers special counsel probe, but has since been reassigned. (FoxNews.com)
Since being fired from the FBI, Comey has landed a multimillion-dollar book deal reflecting on his career, which is titled A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership.
His book promises to take us inside those extraordinary moments in our history, showing us how these leaders have behaved under pressure, Flatiron publisher and President Bob Miller said in a statement. By doing so, Director Comey will give us unprecedented entry into the corridors of power, and a remarkable lesson in leadership itself.
Further proof he’s not leadership material.
He sure is cocky considering what’s at stake.
He’s dirty, Jim.
Comey is the LAST person who should be slamming someone for a lack of “ethical leadership”. He belongs in jail himself for not doing his job while serving in the FBI. There has to be several reasons he should be in the slammer.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!
Bubble of self-importance and arrogance...they actually believe their lies when they tell them...he’s just part of the Clinton mafia.
Prolonged contact with the Clintons has ruined and corrupted many.
Comey wishing for ethical leadership is like an alcoholic wishing others wouldn’t get drunk. Or a rapist wishing others wouldn’t rape his girlfriend. Or a criminal wishing others wouldn’t try to copy his crimes, without admitting his own. Probably the last one is the best comparison.
Leading while hiding in the curtains. And ethically leaking to get your way. True ethical leadership from Jim.
Of course he’s cocky, he and the rest of the conspirators know that they are untouchable.
Prosecuting them would expose the entire Kenyanesian Usurpation and the Uniparty is never going to allow that.
1. Comey knows he will not be prosecuted by the Justice Department.
2. Comey knows the media will give him positive coverage as long as he protects Hillary and attacks Trump.
3. So, he will say anything he wants.
Well said, I like the last one also.
Good one! I love it.
Comey is as corrupt as they come.
And that is just what we know now.
The bottom will drop out on many,
including Comey as more information
is discovered.
Lets git er done, folks!
Comey knows about ethics like OJ Simpson knows about being a good husband
Who on earth would want to read a book by this guy? Contempt for him might just be the only thing the right and left still have in common.
