Scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have predicted that cacao plants are likely to go extinct as early as 2050 due to climate change.IOW, there's not a chance in hell that the cacao plants are going to go extinct, in 2050, by 2050, or ever. And the 'scientists' who say they are need to be investigated for past examples of their frauds. For more about historical chocolate, see the cacao keyword.
Cradle of Chocolate?Digging through history to a time before agriculture, archaeologists from Cornell University and the University of California at Berkeley have found evidence of a village that was continuously occupied from 2000 B.C. to A.D. 1000 as well as hints to the secret of the community's remarkable longevity.

"My guess is, it all comes down to chocolate," says John S. Henderson, professor of anthropology at Cornell and co-director, together with Rosemary Joyce of Berkeley, of the archaeological dig at Puerto Escondido, Honduras. The type of ceremonial pottery uncovered by the archaeologists points to that region of Mesoamerica as a possible "Cradle of Chocolate."
Well if that doesn’t get us “deniers” to start supporting eternally higher carbon taxes, nothing will.
They should stick to jellyfish.
Talk about leftist desperation- I mean Wow!
“Most of the worlds chocolate comes from West Africathe plants thrive in the regions rainforestsbut over the next 40 years, the Earths rising temperatures will push cacao farms up into the mountains, to areas either unsuitable for cultivation or already reserved as wildlife preserves.”
The idea is nonsense. It leaves out completely the fact that even if conditions in West Africa were to change as the alarmists say it will, THAT would also mean some other areas would be likely be having conditions MORE suitable than before for growing chocolate. “Too warm” at some place, will likely mean “getting just warm enough” somewhere else.
So, Mexico will become a desert?
Phoney then.
when prices of chocolate begin to rise, people who like to make a profit will find ways to continue the supply
Polar Ice Caps
Coastal cities
Chocolate
What else is supposed to go extinct due to climate change?
yawn.... nobody believes their bulls#t anymore. The only ones repeating this “fact” are those trying to win an argument by using a straw man or false premise to a debate.

IOW, the 'farmers' [government owned farms?] haven't been taking care of their farms, just reaping them without rotating the crops or re-fertilizing the soil..............................
Sorry about that mowowie!
Global Warming on Free Republic here, here and here
DANG!
They’re getting desperate. Nothing else has worked so far so now they’re going to try saying chocolate will no longer be around so they can convince people to believe their lies.
