It’s not that the average citizen could not perform well in a public office, it’s that the American people usually prefer “experience.”
Perhaps because they are told that “experience” is important.
I doubt if very many could verbalize why they think it’s important. In the dumbing down of our education system, people can’t really think for themselves anymore. Unfortunately they let the mainstream media do it for them.
