News readers. Not even journalists. Why don’t they just have volunteers come in and read the news each day. They could give their personal opinions, just like the usual talking heads do, and it would be no different.

That’s basically my thought as well. I’ve traveled around the globe and watched these morning shows in at least fifteen different countries. They all seem to float the same formula....light-journalism, housewife-mentality, morning-cup-of-coffee chat, etc.

I will admit there was a time with the Today Show when they had a power-house (Hugh Downs, Barbara Walters, Joe Garagiola) but that basically ended around 1973.

You’d be better off at 7 AM to simply pull out the front page of the Wall Street Journal and spend eight minutes reading it, then tune-into your local city/state news for 15 minutes as you drive to work.
