Oh, dp, how sad. I can feel your guilt.
One friend was very upset that two of her besties (me and another girl) got into a college and she did not. She attempted to take her life. We felt terribly guilty too. Heavy burden on young people whose instinct is always to blame themselves.
That’s ONE thing Dr. Phil gets right. Young people ALWAYS find a way to blame themselves if there’s ANY way they can.
I am sorry about your friend and that is actually pretty crushing at that age to feel left behind.
But you didn’t do anything.
And even if I told the mother, what was she going to do? Lock him in his room?
It’s just life. And no one ever said it was fair :(
