The colors were very unusual but really added something to the picture!

"You Are Thanksgiving"

You are a bit of a homebody who enjoys being in the company of people you love.
It doesn't take a lot to make you happy. You're enjoying life as it is.
You have many blessings in your life, and you are grateful for each one.
You believe that life is about what you *do* have. You feel like you have enough of the good stuff.
What makes you celebrate: Family, friends, and the changing of the seasons.
At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The host of the party On a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Spend so much energy preparing that it's a full time job

It probably is my favorite holiday.

LOVE your picture.

The colors made the picture. Otherwise it would have just been a shot of the moon through tree branches and not a very interesting one.

The moon being so bright does some neat things. This one from last month made the twigs look like they were made of glass or ice.

Yes, you are correct. I am a bah-humbug kind of guy for all holidays.

The test is incorrect! ;-)

Thanks! LOL! Sort of covers it all, huh!

Thanks for playing. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite, too, no matter that my answer was “Easter”.

They’re pure luck! They don’t look like that when I’m aiming to take the shots. I just pop off a bunch and hope something turns out worth keeping.

There’s one more super moon the end of the month and I hope it’s warmer then! I took very few pix this time, plus it’s just nice to walk around outside under the bright, bright moonlight.

“Hope The Boss’s son is doing better.”

No, he is not doing better.

The following story is not to elicit sympathy nor empathy because, truthfully, he and I have never gotten along and outwardly disliked each other. It is a cautionary story:

The boss’s son has the following ailments:

About ten years ago he had a sextuple, heart-bypass operation.

He has high blood pressure.

Diabetes.

His kidneys have shut down completely.

Last week his right leg was amputated below the knee because gangrene had invaded his foot due to the diabetes.

Since that surgery another open sore was found on his left foot which would require another surgery to amputate his left leg below the knee.

Day before yesterday he experienced pain in his urinary tract. The diagnosis is that he has an internal gangrene sore in his urinary tract. The doctors have said that perhaps they can control that sore with medication. However, they have also said that gangrene has invaded his entire body.

Today he made the decision to stop all surgeries, treatments and medications except for morphine.

He is to be transferred to a hospice where he will receive only morphine to try to control his pain. The doctors have estimated that, due to his kidneys not functioning, he will live for approximately one week because the dialysis will stop.

All of his ailments are genetic from his father’s side of the family. He accelerated the process with his alcoholism. He has attempted suicide on many occasions using alcohol on one occasion and various other prescribed medications on other occasions.

He is only 57 years old. His mother is in San Antonio with him and will stay with him until the outcome.

From my point of view, this will be a blessing in disguise for him. He has suffered lifelong, deep depression which was partially genetic and partially from the emotional and mental abuse/mistreatment he received from his biological father.

What is cautionary?

If you know that members of your family had disease/s “x,” and that doing “y” accelerates the process then do not do any of the “ys”!

If you know that “z” will help strengthen your body against disease/s “x” then do “z”.

For your dear wife’s sake, I pray that he will not have to suffer much longer from his self-inflicted conditions that have shortened his life. Give him comfort till the end.

Even if we dislike someone, we don’t wish them to suffer in pain. (((hugs)))

Hospice will do all they can to make the transition an easy one. I know that from our experience with my MIL till she passed.

Yes, a blue moon to start off the new year, and a super moon to boot.
After three in a row, it’s going to be a little boring seeing the moon farther away and less bright. LOL

That little camera has been more fun. I wish I’d had it when a flock of whooping cranes spent a couple of weeks in the area on their way north a few years ago. One week was spent at our farm. I got a few pix of them but I didn’t have a camera with a good zoom then. The pix are fuzzy. :-(

Oh, wow! Well, maybe they’ll show up again sometime!

Are all the kittehs doing well in this cold?

They apparently show up here every few years and I hope it’s about time for them to spend time here again. A friend of mine is a member of a bird group and he alerted me to their presence last time. When they showed up at our farm, I let him know so he and the would know where they were and could observe them.

Whichever of us sees them first, if they come back, will let the other know.

The kittehs who are allowed outside are getting cabin fever. It’s just too cold to let them go out. Right now they’re in little piles in front of heaters. Surprisingly none have figured out I have a little heater under the desk to keep my feet warm.

Did you ever pick out another towel to add to Ghost’s bed in the tool shed?

I didn’t. I have one available but I was selfish and didn’t want to go out for any longer than it took me to pour his food. The water is frozen. I hope the poor thing has another source for that. or likes to lick popsicles. I’ll do it tomorrow. I wish I had another old fuzzy throw to put down for him. All the ones I have are good ones. There might be one that I’ve used in the past at church, though, come to think about it. Sometimes my legs get cold and I have to wrap them.

My hubby is in charge of the thermostats and he doesn’t even wear a coat when it’s this cold. He has been out I don’t know how many times barefoot. The man is nutty. LOL!

You didn’t dump the ice from the water dish and put water in it for him? I did that a few times a day when Hubby made the outside cats stay out all the time.

A fuzzy throw would be great for him and he’d appreciate it. That’s what we had for our kittehs and they made good use of them.

Some people just don’t want to wear coats for whatever reason. I saw a couple of them yesterday when I went to the store. Holy cow, they must be nuts!!! LOL

I’ve been watching various Jackson Hole cams and there are folks out on the ski trails smoothing them out for tomorrow’s skiing fun. I sure hope those vehicles are enclosed!
