What is really amazing about the numbers mentioned is the extraordinarily low number of U.S. casualties. Just operating the hardware can kill military folk due to accidents, training shortfalls, and other extraneous causes. Dying in a car wreck in a combat zone is considered a combat death. I have to wonder if the number given filters that kind of stuff out.
