President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that "he not only lost his job" but also "lost his mind" when he left the White House.

On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."

This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

Some say that Trump exhibits that same characteristic especially when he figuratively shoots himself in the foot with his off-the-cuff statements.

I wouldn’t be so quick to listen to the enemy sowing dissent.

And the Bannon book story begins to unravel...

Wolff writes that Barrack Jr, who is one of the president’s oldest associates, told a friend: “He’s not only crazy, he’s stupid.”

Yet, according to the New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman, Barrack told her the quote is “totally false.”

Maybe Drudge has known something about Bannon that we didn’t ... Trump coming out against Bannon might confirm that Bannon is not who we think he is ... I don’t know what to make of this

Bannon is the reason we lost a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans.

Bannon’s denial seems to indicate this is all fake news.

No one is smarter than our great President Trump.

This makes no sense at all.

Why would Bannon do anything to threaten President Trump???
What else does he want: A RAT back in the White House or a stupid RINO???

Still, his involvement with Moore in Alabama—and throwing away an otherwise safe GOP senate seat—is unacceptable.
Moore even had a weak history of eking out victories in deep red Alabama.
BTW, it was sickening to watch Vice-President Pence have to swear in two RATS today (Jones and Smith from Minnesota in Franken’s seat).

I hope President Trump keeps tabs on all of Bannon’s shenanigans and doesn’t allow him to jeopardize any other GOP seats.

UpThe405 from you, totally agree. I am seeing him in a whole new light, and when you perspective on Bannon suddenly things make more sense. FReepers are saying they knew all along he was the WH leaker. Well, I never heard that here before so it’s news to me. I really supported this guy. Not Moore, I was practically alone on this site seeing Moore as too flawed. But I supported Bannon and believed he was on our side.

No President is perfect. Feet of clay. But what this President says in his official speeches and the actions he has taken so far, are straight from my Dream President fantasies. So I stand by the imperfect Trump. Never seen anyone better.

Why did Trump have this loose cannon on the NSC? Doesn’t reflect well on job interview skills.

So this originated at DUh Guardian. Before the Internet this rag was laughed at collecting dust in Brit newsstands.

“Bill Mitchell;Verified account @mitchellvii

Beware of all these websites “confirming” the Guardian article on the upcoming Bannon book. They are just citing the same article, confirming nothing. Drudge (which has been #NeverTrump for months) for example.”
