ABC News ^ | January 3, 2018 | Pearson Wilking Effron

When the sun rose on April 19, 1993, it marked the 51st day of a standoff between dozens of federal agents and members of an apocalyptic religious sect called the Branch Davidians, who had barricaded themselves in their compound outside Waco, Texas.

and All,

I didn't support the government on general principles, thought Koresh was over the top cult leader, wished the people wouldn't have followed him, but after days of it via MSM news (didn't have the internet until 1997 and would read ussenet at first, found my way here by about 2002).

Nobody mentioned they had WMD. That was one of the pretexts for the raid, just one bit I do remember.

From there, Morris Dees came out with Violence on the Plain, got that and read it. Then got a short wave radio and listened to the militia side of it, the Republic of Texas Freedom movement, mostly the Michigan Militia. I didn't want to be involved with them but started to see another side to it.

Ruby Ridge don't remember too much about it, not something I would do (religious extremism) but didn't like the govt sting to entrap him, then kill his son and wife holding their baby in cold blood. That upset me. He got a settlement from the govt eventually and was living with his father as I recall, haven't heard anything since.

Nothing excuses Timothy McVeigh or OKC but that was when I started realizing we can never get to the bottom of a lot of things. I did follow that trial. Clearing away the rubble so quickly, a common element in Waco, OKC and WTC 911.

My nice little short wave radio broke and haven't listened for many years. And still get a lot of my news from MSM for balance because some truth in much of it but realize it is tainted any number of ways to follow a general narrative. I even blame the MSM for ginning up violence against the police.

But I learned a lot from all these events and the way MSM, the govt, and conspiracies that grow around them. Some things are true and don't make sense. And if people only get their news from the MSM, they don't know the half of what might have really happened and by whom (and I never will either).

If there were some inside bad apples in all of this, they have totally gotten away with it.

And I realize the futility of fighting the government if any group tried what is now happening in Iran. And shudder to think what will happen with Democrats again but fear the inevitibality they will succeed. Rush ominously predicted yesterday the Puerto Ricans are mad at Trump and blame him, are moving to the US in droves, are citizens but can only vote primaries in Puerto Rico. About 200K are in FL now, by 2018 could be 400K. If they register to vote and vote, I don't know if we could ever have a conservative or even RINO president again.

anything over one gun is referenced as an “arsenal”.
= = =

Out here in CA, if you see whitecaps, you have an arsenal.

Well, that is the only white caps I could come up with.

I think what you’re saying is no guns have to be involved at all, you still have an arsenal.

"According to the McLennan County Sheriff at the time, Koresh routinely left the “compound” to go jogging and made multiple trips into downtown Waco on a weekly basis."

One of the car mags did a story that he had a 1967 Camaro that he re-engined with a big-block 427 which he took often to the local Dairy Queen to get an ice cream cone. Are you freakin' kidding me... I may know squat about police work, but putting him in cuffs at Dairy Queen IMHO would have been a hell of a lot easier...

The last time he was on. I don't think I imagined it. And I don't think it was a sub. I'm having trouble with anxiety if I'm going to be able to survive more nights of below zero so my days blur into one another pretty fast.

But scheduling my programs has been screwed up because of holidays and taking deserved and earned time off. That and the internet are my lifeline.

Tnx for the synopsis. I knew some of it but not a lot of what I've read from you and others. I saw some pictures of what was purported to be and I believed were the charred bodies of some of the women and children.

A mosque???? Not in the same universe, press, CAIR and rest of them great propaganda, never hear the end of it.

I certainly wouldn't encourage any violence against a mosque or any other group going about what they do peaceably.

For this? I might defend them if I have the right information, sometimes straddle a fence. But not for this. I didn't react right away other than sorrow that they couldn't wait them out. It was downright evil what they did at WACO.

Like that innocent guy that was unarmed in Kansas by people playing the game swatting. Damn Sick. They thought he reached for his waist. Not good enough; they have overwhelming force to take him down fast.

If I knew for certain that they were being fired at with multiple high-powered weapons, I might defend them. How can anybody here defend them? Do they know something different?

Well, I apologize for the obtuseness.

I was making an obscure reference to boating accidents, and loss of firearms.

But, in CA, if you have any of the letters G, U, or N, the govt thinks you have an arsenal.

Okay, I get your drift.

No problem. I get pretty obtuse at times.

Yes, those are sure-fire clues, if there are any of those letters in your correspondence.

We’re on the same page here.

It was April and Rodham was needing a sacrifice.

Fire sacrifice is required on April 19 or 20. April 19 is the first day of the 13 -day Satanic ritual day relating to fire and the fire god, Baal, or Molech/Babylon, Amun/Egypt (the Sun God).

The Waco fire took place on April 19th.

I’m not sure who you are referencing.

Who lived across the street? Koresh early on?
