Whatever Koresh was or was not, that whole fiasco was unnecessary at best and criminal at worst. According to the McLennan County Sheriff at the time, Koresh routinely left the “compound” to go jogging and made multiple trips into downtown Waco on a weekly basis. If the goal was to arrest Koresh, it would have simple to have a few agents accompanied by either the SO or Texas DPS take Koresh into custody away from Mt. Carmel. This was nothing but Clinton and Reno flexing their muscles against what they saw as the “enemy”. In doing so, they caused the death of not only their own Federal agents, but Men, Women and Children.

If asked, the local sheriff could have just called Koresh and he probably would have come in.

Are you aware that when Koresh went for a jog, he ran right past a BATF observation location? They could have arrested a winded Koresh with ease.

This thing stunk from way before the assault on the farmhouse.

Compound? Sect?

Since when are people who are exercising the freedoms guaranteed under our Constitution, fair game?

The only two federal agents that were killed at Waco were both former Clinton bodyguards, and they were killed by ‘friendly fire’.

If I remember correctly, they were the last two- all others are dead too.

One of the car mags did a story that he had a 1967 Camaro that he re-engined with a big-block 427 which he took often to the local Dairy Queen to get an ice cream cone. Are you freakin' kidding me... I may know squat about police work, but putting him in cuffs at Dairy Queen IMHO would have been a hell of a lot easier...
