How much do you have to earn in CA for your state tax bill to be more than $10K?

Just curious. We don’t have any state taxes here.

Cutting your taxes and spending less of social welfare would be a sane response.

enate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon plans to introduce legislation allowing people to make a donation to the state in lieu of income taxes. That would allow them to claim the federal charitable deduction, at least partially getting around the change.

A donation is voluntary, not compulsory at the barrel of a gun. Were they to go that route, I would as that I am not donating my taxes, but I am keeping them myself instead.

I’m sure Illinois Gov Bruce “Grossly Inept” Rauner will jump right on this, too.

The smartest thing we ever did was leave the people's republik of kalifornia while the gettin' was good.

They are taxing all the wage earners to death to pay for the goodie goodie programs moonbeam and the legislature keep on imposing to support the illegal, the lame and the lazy.

They could cut benefits to illegal aliens. Then cut benefits to welfare sponges. But that’s just crazy talk.

CA, NY, IL or HI will find a federal judge to declare the law unconstitutional. Then all hell will break loose in regard to corporations, individual withholding, IRS liens.......

It COULD work allowing a dollar-for-dollar reduction in California state income taxes for each dollar donated to the California “charity”...

...BUT ONLY if such dollar-for-dollar reduction in state income taxes is ALSO ALLOWED FOR DONATIONS TO ANY OTHER FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED CHARITY.

So California tax payer...to what charity will your “tax offset dollar donations” go? .... your church? .... or your state six figure income bureaucrats?
