One cannot rule actual mental illness. People suffer through lives of schizophrenia and if they stay on their meds, can lead a fruitful life. But if something gets out of balance, the wheels just come off every aspect of their life.

I just looked at the USA Today article where Bannon calls Trump a “great man.” It also says that Bannon “brushes off hoopla over tell-all book and blames the left-wing media.”
Bannon is a loon. I doubt schizophrenia but he looks like an alcoholic and his words and actions seem a lot like a binge-drinking alkie with alcoholic dementia setting in to me.
Since schizophrenia hits when young, there surely would be some information available if true for Bannon.
