The multitude of variables makes the mind boggle. How many of each group had jobs? How many of the non-live-in fathers lived in the same state, much less the same neighborhood, as their children? How many of the moms helped with homework because they worked at home? Did they count each father as the one parent to however many children he’d produced, or was each father counted within each family unit?
Smells like a divisive article to me.
Any parental group outperforming another is definitively a good thing.
There is nothing believable about these numbers; no reason to accept them at all. It is an outright lie, nothing else - fake news.
Our government and its various agencies (education, law enforcement) have made it clear that the most dangerous place for a black child is in the home.

Absolutely; at some point white women are going to realize the role this “war on white men” plays in leaving them old, single, and childless - then maybe they’ll lend a hand in stifling it. Otherwise they’ll be extinct even sooner than us.
Without the sample sizes, the question must be asked “percentages of how many?”

Sure - and the “black” sample could be 10 Africans (Kenyans, for example) living in the US who DO tend live with their children, push academic achievement, and play an active role in their children’s lives.
Everything my lying eyes see tells me this whole story is BS; they were spouting this in sociology classes a quarter of a century ago, and it was as false then as it is now. We just had 25 years bear out that it was false...
Where oh where did they find enough black fathers to complete this study?
Using the same computer model the EPA has to determine the climate predictions has been leaked over to the CDC.
“In 1965, 24 percent of black infants and 3.1 percent of white infants were born to single mothers. By 1990 the rates had risen to 64 percent for black infants, 18 percent for whites.”
I believe the rates for blacks is now almost 70 percent.
I found another paper regarding LBJ - and will need to digest it more. The article talks about Johnson’s speech from 1964(?):

A phony study by phony scientists. They think that peoples’ responses are valid. They think that once they have numbers they actually know something.
They always generalize from their “studies” to the general population. Invalid studies produce invalid numbers which mean nothing.

So, the CDC leaves out the huge number of black fathers who left their baby mammas?
They’ve been watching too many commercials on television where in every case the black family is successful, smart, makes all the correct decisions, and the white family (especially the white male) is a complete loser and makes all the wrong decisions. Talk about social engineering false images.
This is all about fathers who do not live with their children. What it suggests is that black fathers are often not living with their children so the woman can collect more welfare.
What is also missing is what percent of black fathers ACTUALLY LIVE with their children. That would be very high, much higher than for whites. That’s what being a father is about living with the children. An absent father is not being a father.
