All is well here, but just damn this Gore-bull warming! I have a 15 minute walk from my Metro Station to the Office and this morning, between the single digit temps and the stiff wind, it was almost too much for me. Notwithstanding having been well-clad, by the time I got to the Office my hands were so cold I couldn't unzip my jacket or unsnap my backpack for several minutes.

Other than the cold and wind, we have had a little snow here - nothing like in years past.

Anything YouTube you can run back, usually 4 hours. The Berry cam can go for two or three days before they reset it sometimes. UStream, you can’t go back. What you see at the time is what you get.

Ma keeps fluffing up the grass whenever she gets up and had covered the egg in the process. She finally shuffled it around to uncover it again a short time ago. Not the first time she’s done it.

YIKES! A 15 minute walk in THAT weather??? The temps are bad enough but I’ve heard the wind has been horrendous and that makes it so much worse. You can’t put enough clothes on to keep that kind of cold out.

At least you didn’t get the snow that’s buried the folks father north and have THAT to walk through too.

All of you need a warm-up, and soon!

Altera was at the nest for just a moment but has flown again. It’s odd how long she leaves the egg uncovered, but no one seems concerned. I can’t remember that much about last year except for the little adopted one.

LOL! I got in a Doors mood last night when the movie came on. I was clueless up to that point as to what I was going to post tonight.

Now I’ll go back to see what else has been posted.

You didn’t say Altera has already laid her first egg! That was an eye-opener when I pulled the cam up a sec ago.

They leave the first egg uncovered quite a bit until the second one is laid. That’s so the eggs will hatch close together and the chicks will be close to the same in size. The younger has a better chance of survival that way. Momma at Savannah did the same thing.
