SAS soldier 'chopped off ISIS thug's head with SHOVEL and used his gun to kill more militants'

The British sergeant was said to have run out of ammunition during a bloody battle in Afghanistan

By Chris kitching

Updated 20:40, 7 JAN 2018

An elite SAS soldier cut off an ISIS fighter's head with a spade after he ran out of ammunition during a bloody six-hour battle, it was claimed.

After killing the jihadist, the British sergeant used the enemy's gun to kill more militants.

The brutal battle is said to have occurred six weeks ago in war-torn Afghanistan.

The British special forces unit was ambushed by ISIS gunmen and took refuge in a farm where the soldiers fended off the insurgents with their rifles and anything at hand, it was reported.

The UK is more likely to seize his family’s home and give it to a returning jihadi.

Agree 100%. I salute the man who has done what he had to do and lived to tell the tale.

See the post below yours. I have several of the East German version of that shovel. It’s very well balanced, and the blade is very hard. Excellent weapon.

“This man is the solution to just about every problem that our feckless pajama boy governments have tossed in our path to life and liberty.”

And our DOD is concerned with recruiting Transgenders.

Usurping the president’s constitutional authority

ANALYSIS/OPINION:
By James A. Lyons - - Thursday, January 4, 2018

President Donald Trump, exercising his constitutional authority, announced in July, 2017 that transgender personnel will not be allowed to serve in our military; thereby, reversing an Obama policy of accepting them. President Barack Obama had set a deadline of July 1, 2017 to accept transgender personnel in the military.

Secretary of Defense James Mattis postponed that date until Jan. 1, 2018. Subsequently, two appeals court judges rejected the Trump administration’s request to put on “hold” orders by two lower court judges’ requiring the military to accept transgender personnel.

With the Department of Justice (DOJ) raising the “white flag,” along with the White House chief of staff and counsel failing to protect the president’s constitutional authority, the military is now required to accept transgender personnel effective Jan. 1, 2018. Actually, on Dec. 8, 2017, the Department of Defense (DOD) issued guidelines to recruit and enlist transgender personnel by Jan. 1.

The rationale for why the Trump administration will not challenge these rulings, according to DOJ officials, was that the DOD will be releasing an independent study on transgender issues by Feb. 2. So what? What’s lacking is an appreciation of the fact that the results of the DOD study are irrelevant to the principal issue of protecting the president’s constitutional authority.

It’s “Tommy this” and “Tommy that”
And “Chuck ‘im out, the brute!”
But it’s “Saviour of his country!”
When the guns begin to shoot.

Could you possibly hang any more stuff on a rifle? Appears to be an M-4. Does everyone get a grenade launcher? Weapon goes from about 7 lbs loaded to probably 20?

“But the bayonet has practically lost its importance. It is usually the fashion now to charge with bombs and spades only. The sharpened spade is a more handy and many-sided weapon; not only can it be used for jabbing a man under the chin, but it is much better for striking with because of its greater weight; and if one hits between the neck and shoulder it easily cleaves as far down as the chest. The bayonet frequently jams on the thrust and then a man has to kick hard on the other fellow’s belly to pull it out again; and in the interval he may easily get one himself. And what’s more the blade often gets broken off.”

The Marine who killed three insurgents; beating one to death with the man’s own weapon

On June 17, 2010, Marine Cpl. Clifford Wooldridge was in a convoy when their vehicles came under heavy enemy fire from a group of Taliban fighters in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Spotting a group of 15 fighters, Wooldridge and his men dismounted and moved across open ground to flank the enemy, killing or wounding eight and forcing the remainder to scatter. Following the gunbattle, Wooldridge remained behind to cover his team’s withdrawal, but heard voices from behind an adjacent mud wall. Rushing around the corner, he came face-to-face with two enemy fighters, and opened fire at point blank range, killing both with his M249 SAW.

According to Wooldridge’s Navy Cross award citation, as he moved back behind the wall to reload, he spotted the barrel of an enemy machine gun poking around the corner. Without hesitating, Wooldridge dropped his empty weapon and seized the barrel of the enemy fighter’s machine gun. As the two grappled in hand-to-hand combat, the Taliban fighter reached for a grenade attached to Wooldridge’s flak jacket, intending to pull the pin and kill them both. Overpowering his attacker, Wooldridge took hold of the enemy’s weapon and then beat the man to death with it.

Shovel Strike

“Lucille, God gave me a gift. I shovel well. I shovel very well.”
— The Shoveler, Mystery Men

A Sub-Trope of Improvised Weapon and closely related to the Powerful Pick, shovels are primarily used for excavation but can instantly become a weapon if the need arises. The handle gives the weapon a good reach while the head provides a weight allowing it to function as an oddly-shaped mace. With proper sharpening of the blade, the shovel can even work as an oddly-balanced polearm. Especially dexterous individuals can even use the flat of the shovel as a shield, which can be quite comedic if the blocked blow was a punch.

Can either be used as an easy way to render an enemy unconscious or as a lethal weapon depending on the user and media. Not to mention, it carries the advantage of being something inconspicuous in any home and useful if you need to get rid of a body. Indeed, if a gravedigger is presented as a combatant, he usually uses a shovel this way.

Truth in Television: after studying the infantry dynamics of the World Wars, most modern military forces have been giving their entrenching tools a semi-sharp tool edge that can easily be honed further before a battle to increase its cutting power. Plus, it takes training to become proficient with bayonet, knife or sword combat - but practically every male and most females on Earth have used shovels sometime in their lives.

I heard many a tales from WW2 where soldiers in hand to hand used their trenching tools as makeshift axes against the enemy.
