I currently subscribe to
City Journal Chronicles First Things World Imprimis and various professional journals and some regional magazines for the waiting room.
Looking for periodicals that are not me too echo-chambers of current thought but instead would like some original thinking, quality writing and interesting topics.

I used to enjoy The Christian Science Monitor but just don’t have time at present. It has interesting authors and real journalists. At least it used to.

Claremont Review of Books is excellent, as mentioned.
Another I like is Lapham’s Quarterly.

American Spectator is still the best.
And most important.
I would suggest browsing the periodicals at a large university library. There is an astounding variety.

CA....
I like “Congressional Digest”.
It covers the pros and cons of an issue from both sides and in a non-partisan manner. As they say in their website:
Each issue covers a current debate topic, including background information, legislative summaries, and arguments in our original, trademarked PRO&CON® format.
Here’s a link to their website:

Be warned though. A year’s subscription ain’t cheap. It’s $345. But I found it to be well worth it.
Here’s a few to start with, and sorry they are all digital and free. I don’t have time for paper-print except the WSJ while I am out for breakfast.

Hi Chickensoup,
Based on some of your comments. You appear to be looking for real print (Dead wood Paper) type journals/periodicals. Is that correct?
