it racist to say that you would prefer immigrants coming to the U.S. who are well-educated, skilled, and high-income earners? Or would you want poorly-educated, unskilled people? Is it racist for countries such as Canada and Australia to rank immigrants on a point system based on these qualities?
President Trump supposedly called Haiti and African nations “shithole countries” and said, “We should have more people from Norway.” Trump denies using that language, while Republican senators say that “do not recall” him saying it.

Norway’s per-student spending from primary school through college is the third highest among developed countries. It has one of the world’s highest real per capita incomes, which adjusts for livings costs. In 2016, the IMF listed Norway at $69,249. That is 21 percent higher than the U.S. real per capita income of $57,436.
In contrast, Haiti’s real per capita income is just $1,784 per person. In sub-Saharan Africa, it is $3,732.
The differences in people’s skills explain a lot of these variations in income. Haiti’s education system is a disaster, with the lowest schooling rate in the Western Hemisphere. Haiti's literacy rate is well below the average for Latin American and Caribbean countries (61 percent versus 90 percent).....

The shock, let's note, is really about the ideas, not directly about the actual words. (I can see the "media sources" lying about the actual words to sharpen the controversy, but the controversy itself is about the idea.)
Remember that the people who spread and believe the early media reports are the same people who use the F-word in public and would love to see 6-year-olds learning 38 synonyms for oral sex. "Liberals" have been coarsening the culture over the decades, and you can see the results around you.

Never mind colonies, here in the US we have the Welfarian Resettlement Program (aka “Section 8”) to match non-contributing populations with taxpaying hosts. Too many unassimilated minorities in this country function exactly as they would in their home countries, and are spared any consequences by massive injections of taxpayer cash.
And we still can be the worlds social service program but we do not have to bring those people here. I agree with you. They need to stay in their shithole countries and maybe with some education and training they can make something out of their own country. And don’t give me any refugee crap either - fight for your own freedom like Americans did.
Plus it would cost less money if we just sent the money we spend here on programs directly to them there. Then we get rid of crime and dependency and all this other junk that goes with bad immigration policy.
Mind you - I am the son of an immigrant. A legal and proper immigrant who came to this country and worked hard and raised not one but 2 families.

If it wasn’t for the oil, Norway would have nothing. They’re a snarky socialist country of 5.3 million, that’s significantly smaller than the Phoenix metropolitan area.
