Benghazi happened about 8 weeks before the U.S. presidential election. There was no way Obama could release the Blind Sheik for his friend Mohammed Morsi WITHOUT REASONABLE JUSTIFICATION and Stevens as a hostage was that justification. Stevens died, the plot failed so Obama couldn’t release the Blind Sheik without jeopardizing his re-election.
