All I’ve got left is the dry involuntary cough, diarrhea and no appetite. The fever is gone. The cough prevents sleep.
I used Robitussin DM and it seemed to help. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. Guaifenesin loosens mucus.
One thing I started to do years ago is when a cold starts I using nasal saline. I lie down, tilt my head back and put the saline in. Stay there as long as I can. Then blow my nose. It keeps a lot of the gunk that normally would slide down into my lungs out.
From the Friday after Christmas until right now — I have used a whole package of cough drops. Started my second pack yesterday.
