Consider: Trump says he’ll sign a bill last in an open meeting in front of the cameras. Anything they put in from of him, he’ll sign. Two days later Durbin and Flake announce a “done deal” and rush to meet with Trump behind _closed_ doors. Trump throws cold water on them and announces no deal on DACA without border security and funding for the wall. So Durbin comes out and insists Trump called Caribbean, Latin American, Africa states “$#|7holes.” _On the eve of MLK weekend._
So that’s all we hear for three solid days. That Trump used a bad word and that makes him a racist.
Point: This entire drama over what Trump said was going to be staged _no matter what he actually said_ because he said the only thing that mattered: ‘no’ to their plan to get Trump to cave on DACA and border security.
Refuse Durbin access to any more meetings.
