That will be a neat trick. Trees "store" carbon by virtue of the simple fact that they are carbon-based life-forms. The bigger a tree gets, the more carbon it "stores".
But trees do not "store" carbon-dioxide.

Seems like the only possibility would be to ban cutting the trees down so they can "store" the carbon for some additional years.
