The Left wants your Freedom Machine. You choose where you go in the car you drive. In a driverless car, you might be taken to where you’re permitted.
They are very clear about getting everybody to live in high rises next to the railroad tracks. Then they’ll track the number of miles you drive to tax you: “Oops, you drove over your allotted 6,000 miles last year. Please pay your $10,000 excess mileage surcharge.” Then they will take control as you say and limit your driving. All of this clearly leads to totalitarianism.
