Chinese exhibitors are dumping ‘The Last Jedi’ by an incredible 92% in its second weekend. It’s dropping from 34.5% of the screens in the Middle Kingdom to 2.6%, with some of those being turned over to ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle‘ and others going to local films.

Mediocrity raised to the highest level.
And, or course, when combined with a lack of mental acuity (a prevalent condition on H-wood), this is what we get.

Rogue One, which had nobody really famous, was a far superior movie because it didn't assume the audience would be satisfied simply because it was "Star Wars."
Of course, it was as much the Dirty Dozen as Star Wars, but still....
I took my son to see it. I love the Star Wars saga. But the movie is not good. Besides the feminism and PC littered everywhere as a distraction, they have decided to blur the view of good and evil. The evil is depicted but all the good guys are conflicted and cowardly or stupid.
A lot of the dialogue is bad, cliche. Character development is weak. The plot is about the dominance of evil and the struggle for good guys to just survive, not defeat evil.

The bad guys win.
Luke certainly did not come across with a “Dark night of the Soul” experience but more like a spoiled child. I still managed to let myself enjoy the movie as much possible as it was a bit of an escape from the work grind.

The actors were for the most part the ones you see on the Syfy channel. Totally forgettable.
there were no stars no acting. Just mannequins pushed about by self important directors.

Worst character ever!
I’ve always seen good movies as being able to “suspend disbelief”. It’s why I didn’t like the Star Treck movies based on TNG. They seemed like a bunch of actors pretending to be in the future. i.e. they didn’t suspend disbelief.
And when any movie has a female being a “tough guy” it usually works best if the woman, if she were in the real world, would be in a mental institution (i.e. the mom in terminator).
But Rogue One did it pretty good. Maybe it’s because I didn’t expect much...

I don’t think they see it that way. It could have done more but I am sure they are happy with that.
I wish you were right but until audiences punish them for PC they will keep that crap up.
Expect Han Solo to be born a girl and change sexes in his 20s just a few years before “A New Hope.”
