Leftists would LOVE it if NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco just picked the President! The Electoral College was designed to allow smaller states to make a difference in the Presidential Election. IF Hillary had paid attention to the smaller states and cities (but that’s not where the money is!) she may well have won. BOO HOO, HILLARY!

My understanding is that Hillary!'s majority popular vote came from the city and county of Los Angeles, and a couple of boroughs in New York City.

I, for one, do not want my president to be decided upon by Los Angeles and New York City.

California, our most populous state, has more than 39 million people...

How many US citizens do they have?

It’s noticible that the people who claim great love for others based on their minority status have no love or concern for little Wyoming getting pushed around by the big-commerce states. This makes crystal clear that leftists only care for minorit is to the degree that they can use them to dilute Amreicanisim.

The House is proportional representation. Remove the two Senate seats before dividing population by number of seats. Ignorance on display.

The Electoral College was designed for The United ‘States’ of America, not the Peoples’ Republic of America.

‘States’ were of primary importance as the founding of the nation. Since then, that importance has been watered down with more authority going to the FED.

Still, the EC was designed to give states will small population numbers better representation in presidential elections. Note that ‘states’ may determine their own methods of elections, as long as the result adheres to the EC concept.

According to the 2010 census, nearly 81% of the us population lived in urban areas. Of course the Libs want popular vote elections. A look at the red-blue map shows what areas (mainly those in red) would be disenfranchised by popular vote presidential elections.

Note also that ‘states’ were given the authority to elect US Senators, but they abrogated that in favor of state-wide popular vote elections in the 17th Amendment to The Constitution.

Now, senate candidates need only register in some states to be put on the ballot. They don’t even have a residential requirement or a very lax one. Thus carpetbagger candidates abound.

” Comparatively, individuals in Wyoming have nearly four times the power in the Electoral College as Californians.”

Ole Walter says this as if it’s a problem. Since California has probably the majority of the Mexican illegals within it’s borders and they are counted as “residents” in the Census and they are not “pealed out” of the numbers when we go about setting up congressional districts, I’d say things are about equal. And If they are not, as a Conservative Californian, I am glad that Wyoming, home to mostly decent people, has an edge.
