CHIP is huge leverage for the rEpublocans they will give up in this CR. While the CR funds govt for 4 weeks CHIP will be funded for six years. Republicans should not extend CHIP beyond the CR. A budget deal or Dems pay the price,

Even with a 50 vote rule, Graham and Flake are essentially caucusing with the RATs. We are living in fascinating times. I really think this is going to last months - we are fighting a real resistance. RATs depend on DACA for their future - I think they are willing to die on that hill.
Shutting down the government is something the Dems can point to to please that voter group.
So they win ‘something’.
I don’t think they’re that far apart. Trump has been willing to take DACA, he just wants reasonable enforcement and rules too

So today on school announcements at our CA middle school, they announced that if any student with absences wants to, they can go on a school-sponsored trip to the million woman march. The school will then get ADA money for making up for absences with their attendance. Taxpayers are paying schools to bring marchers!
The RATs do NOT want to stop immigration in any form. Even if they accept a DACA Trump likes, the next RAT president will disband border Security- take that to the bank.
So they won't filibuster. Will counter with a shorter CR. May work for the Dems but just kicking the can. Trump won't surrender.
